Joseph Kokumu, better known by the stage name DJ Lifa, is an award-winning contemporary Christian music songwriter, music producer and DJ from Nairobi, Kenya. The DJ is passionate about about spreading the Word of God through music, and primarily focuses on contemporary worship music.  

DJ Lifa started his career as a radio DJ in  2016. His first notable platform was on Vision TV Kenya, where he served as a DJ on the Vmixx Show. From 2016 – 2018, he served as DJ for the Youth Patrol Show on Biblia Husema Broadcasting, a Christian radio station broadcasting from Nairobi Kenya. In 2019 he founded Lifa Records, a Christian record label company where he works as a music director.

Education: DJ Lifa holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Statistics from Egerton University, Kenya, and currently pursuing Master of Public Health at Amref International University , Master of Science in Digital Transformation at Nexford University USA, and Master of Science in Data Science at University of East London, UK. Besides music, Joseph is also an experienced public health researcher, statistician and Monitoring and Evaluation expert who is passionate about use of data for decision making. He also has a keen interest in Bioethics and is a member of the Bioethics Society of Kenya

Awards and Recognition: DJ Lifa has been nominated for various awards in Kenya. DJ Lifa won the Top Digitally Fit DJ of the year 2023 by  Digitally Fit Awards. His other nominations include DJ of the Year, Kenya Gospel Music and Legends Awards 2016 and 2017, and Emerging DJ of the Year on Xtreem Awards 2016.
